SQL Tips #36 - Listing All Stored Procedures or Tables

Thursday, 16 May 2019

A quick way to list all stored procedures (or tables) in a database.

Use 'p' for procedures, 't' for tables, etc.

The Query

SELECT DISTINCT o.name, o.xtype
FROM syscomments c
INNER JOIN sysobjects o ON c.id=o.id
WHERE o.xtype='P'

Disclaimer

These queries are provided as a guide, and are by no means perfect. I didn't write all of these - many are collated from MSDN documentation and community sources over the years.
